Do you live in Wootton Bassett and want to be a star in the carnival? Then come along to Wootton Bassett’s Carnival Queen contest!

2012 will be the 40th anniversary of the Wootton Bassett Carnival. The carnival committee will be celebrating this milestone date with a display in the Post Office of past processions.

Were you Wootton Bassett carnival queen in 1972? Maybe you took part in a procession or were simply one of the spectators? If you have any old photographs, the committee would like to borrow them.

Of course, our carnival wouldn’t be able to go ahead without the generousity of local businesses and individual donations. We’re looking for local companies who would be willing to sponsor a band or to simply donate towards the overall costs of the day.

The winner of the ARC trophy was Old Court Pre-School,

and the winner of the Carnival Queen Cup was The Five Bells!

Congratulations to all of this years winners and thank you for entering, thank you also to this years Royalty, including the Quueen, Princesses and our fantastic judges, it’s a tough job but someone has to do it!

Next years Carnival is our 40th Anniversary it’s on the 19th May 2012 see you there!!

Please keep your fingers and toes crossed for good weather, we hope it’s going to stay dry for the whole event!
